Autumn Newsletter 2010

Welcome back! Hope you all had a great summer.

This term four Cubs will be moving up to Scouts; Login to view names . We wish them the best of luck at Scouts and thank them for their involvement and enthusiasm they have brought to every meeting at Cubs. Many thanks also goes to their parents who have been fantastic support to the Cub Pack.

Autumn Programme:

Cubs will be running each week for the Autumn Term, except for September 28th – the week after camp! This terms programme is jam packed with activities with lots of opportunities for Cubs to try something new and achieve lots of badges. We are continuing to work on the challenge badges and by Christmas our four oldest Cubs will receive the Chief Scout’s Silver Award (the top award in Cubs) if they complete all of the challenges this term. There will be an opportunity for the rest of the cub pack to complete theirs in the new year.

Please note that the first week in October we will be meeting on a Thursday as a one off. Pets at Home are giving workshops to Cubs to help them complete their Animal Carer Badge. Please note the change in usual time as well – see Autumn programme.

This term sees the start of our new young leader – Login to view names – and also Login to view names continuing help. Thank you very much boys!

On the programme is the parent rota and as always we are very grateful for the parental help we have during the term. If any parent is unable to help on any week, please feel free to swap or let me know.

Subscriptions:

These are now due and are £20 for the Autumn Term. Please make cheques payable to 1st Crowle Scout Group.

Cub and Scout Camp:

This year’s Cub and Scout Camp is at Croft Farm Water Park in Bredons Hardwick on the weekend 24th – 26th September. This is a fantastic opportunity for Cubs to take part in three organised water activities over the weekend to gain their Water Activities Badge and also gain their Campers Badge and Nights Away Staged Badge. We hope to see as many Cubs there as possible!

What do the Cubs think?

I want to offer the opportunity to any Cub who would like to write about their experience at Cubs. It could be about a new activity you have tried, a camp you went on or a new friend you have met. Anything to with cubs! Experiences can be posted on the website to share with the rest of the Scout group. Bring your piece along to the Cub meeting at any time through the Autumn Term.

Akela.
