The Sections and Programme
Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. There are five Sections:
BeaversBeaver Scouts 6 – 8 year olds
Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months.
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others.
We usually meet together once a week on Tuesday evenings from 5:45 till 6:45.
CubsCub Scouts 8 –10 ½ year olds
Cub Scouts are young people usually aged between eight and ten and a half years old. They belong to the second section in the Scouting family following on from Beavers. Young people can join Cub Scouts whether they have been a Beaver or not. They can move to the next Section, Scouts, between ten and a half to eleven years old.
The Cub Scout uniform includes the traditional green coloured sweatshirt. Cubs enjoy making friends, playing games and adventures in the great outdoors.
We usually meet together once a week on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 till 8:30.
ScoutsScouts 10 ½ – 14 year olds
ExplorerExplorer Scouts 14 -18 year olds
NetworkNetwork 18 – 25 year olds
